High Pressure Gas Leak

At 11:11am Tuesday, March 27, JVFD was dispatched to the 6800 block of Dallas Dr. for a gas leak. Both Engines 34 and 38 responded along with Command 30. A construction worker operating an excavator had cut into a 4 inch high pressure line. Texas Gas Service responded and was able to stop the leak with a temporary clamp. Photos Here

Deputy’s Vehicle Rammed During Traffic Stop

At 0352 Monday, March 26, Jollyville was dispatched to a collision at HWY. 620 and El Salido Pkwy. involving a Travis County Deputy with a possible pin-in. Engine 38, Rescue 35 responded from Sta. 2 and Engine 34 responded from Sta. 1. When units arrived they found there were three vehicles involved but no pin-in. Three patients were transported by Williamson Co. EMS with minor injuries. The Travis Co. Deputy was out on a traffic stop when his vehicle was struck causing his vehicle to collide with the third vehicle.

Hazardous Materials Incident

March 19th started with a unique situation as firefighters were called to a garbage truck on fire in Anderson Mill. First arriving Engine 38 found a garbage truck that was not on fire, but whose operator was complaining of nausea after compacting a load of refuse from a residence.

Captain Chelf called for the Williamson County Hazardous Materials Team to the scene. The team is made up of members from fire departments in Jollyville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, and Taylor. Read more

Funeral Detail, Structure Fire, and Car Fire in a Garage

‘A’ shift firefighters were happy to see shift change this morning after a busy shift.

The shift started at 09:00 A.M. with a staff meeting. After the staff meeting, Station 2 firefighters as well as Chief Kiracofe, Chief Landi, and Lt. Johnson all reported to Taylor to honor Chief John Coates, former Travis County Fire Control and Hutto Fire Chief, who passed away March 9 at his home in Hutto. Read more
