B Shift House Fire
March 20, 2008
B Shift firefighters from both stations and the volunteer ranks were called to a house fire near Cahill at Pond Springs. E38 arrived on scene just ahead of E34 to find a 2 story house with heavy fire showing from the first and second floors extending into the attic.
Auto aid companies from Cedar Park, Sam Bass, and Austin all assisted at the scene. The fire was brought under control in approximately 25 minutes.
Fitness Challenge Weigh In #1

After one week of nutrition conscious decisions and increased exercise, the results are in for the first week of training. Two firefighters lost a total of 8 pounds, two firefighters gained a total 6 pounds (probably muscle, we’re sure), and 2 firefighters were off either for the shift or during the weigh in time. Firefighters from both stations on B shift have initiated a shift fitness challenge. Over the next 3 months, all 6 firefighters will be challenging themselves and each other to improve their strength, fitness, and aerobic capacity. Read more
Don’t Forget To Check Your Batteries

Daylight Savings Time will begin on Sunday, March 9th, with most of us setting our clocks ahead when we go to bed on the evening of Saturday, March 8th. Even though we will be ’springing forward’, the next Sunday morning will provide some relief for most of us. Of course, changing the clocks is a great time to change your smoke detector batteries.
Smoke Alarms are your first defense against fire. A working smoke alarm can detect a small fire and provide crucial minutes necessary to prevent a tragedy from occurring in your home. Read more
