Smoke Alarms In Every Home

The Williamson County Fire Chief’s Association in partnership with Wayne Wright Lawyers, LLP is proud to announce the acquisition of 5,000 smoke detectors that will be made available to the public, free of charge.
The donation was announced at a press conference held on May 23, 2007 at Round Rock Fire Station 6. On hand for the event were Department Chief Kiracofe, Cedar Park Chief Chris Connealy, Taylor Chief Bruce Watson, Georgetown Chief Anthony Lincoln, Round Rock Chief Larry Hodge and Round Rock Battalion Chief Billy Wusterhausen. Jollyville Hosts Annual Banquet

The 32nd annual awards banquet for the Jollyville Fire Department was held on the evening of April 7th. Despite the unusually cold temperatures, the turnout was large and jovial. The banquet was held at the Avery Ranch Golf Club. Awards were given out for Firefighter of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Chris Hanger EMS Responder of the Year, John Golding Leadership Award, Volunteer Response and Length of Service. Read more
Williamson County Training Day

Firefighters from Jollyville, Cedar Park, Liberty Hill, Weir, and Taylor participated in the Williamson County Training Day on March 10th at the Cedar Park Training Facility.
Approximately 15 students practiced their skills at ladders, SCBA confidence courses, and live fire training under the watchful eye of several area instructors. Read more
Helping Our Armed Services

Firefighters from the JVFD hosted a group of Marines today at Fire Station 2. The Marines were participants in a class on basic first aid, cpr, and class showing how to package an injured individual for transport. Several of the members of the class will be going to Iraq in just a few months to begin a tour of service. ‘A’ shift Station 2 firefighters and volunteers assisted with the class as well as members of Austin Fire Department Engine 21.
