Membership


Prospective members of the Jollyville Volunteer Fire Department (JVFD) may apply for either full active membership that involves firefighting and EMS functions or an associate support membership position. An associate membership may be granted only to fulfill specific, designated support functions that do not normally involve actual fire fighting or EMS on-scene operations. Associate membership may be granted to personnel who live outside of one mile of the JVFD boundaries to specifically fulfill a requirement for any necessary function, including firefighting and EMS. The Board of Directors on a case-by-case basis will grant associate membership. The Board of Directors may wave certain standards required of active firefighter members for associate members.

Entry Requirements:

Membership in JVFD will not be limited by any sort of discrimination including those regarding race, sex, age (except as below), religion or national origin. Any person may apply for membership who (is):

  1. Over the age of 18 years.
  2. Passes an entry level physical.
  3. Passes the JVFD PQS academy.
  4. A high school graduate (or GED or equivalent).
  5. Resides within one mile of the boundaries of the area covered by JVFD. (An exception may be granted for associate membership.)

Maintaining Membership:

  • Attend a minimum of 2 training meetings per month
  • Volunteer a minimum of 30 hours per month to the department
  • Cover 2 volunteer shifts per month, 12 hours each

  • Accidental death loss benefit of $150,000 or dismemberment loss according to the policy up to $150,000

Pick Up Membership Application from the Fire Station

Membership Applications may be picked up from the Jollyville Station during regular business days and hours. Applications may also be picked up at one of the Monday Night Training Meetings, held on the first and third Monday’s of the month. The address is:
