Fire Extinguisher RECALL

November 3, 2017

Kiddie has recalled many of their plastic handled fire extinguishers. Please read the info below and see if you need yours replaced. This recall goes all the way back to 1973!

It would be really a bad situation to grab a fire extinguisher during an emergency and it fails to operate! As always, call for help (911) BEFORE you attempt to handle an emergency on your own. Then you know, if something goes wrong (like an extinguisher failing), you have help on the way.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall notice for certain Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles. The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.
